Grange Home Climate Beneficial ™ Wool Shearling, Ivory Crimped & Variegated
Grange Home Climate Beneficial ™ Wool Shearling, Ivory Crimped & Variegated
We are thrilled to launch an amazingly rich, soft, plush and gorgeous wool shearling collection featuring Climate Beneficial ™ Wool from Northern California landscapes.
Climate Beneficial ™ is a verification process established by the non-profit, Fibershed, which ensures that carbon farming practices are employed on the landscapes where these Perendale sheep were raised. Carbon Farm Plans provide land steward practices that work to mitigate the impacts of climate change --sequestering atmospheric carbon and creating water-holding capacities for greater soil health.
Each shearling is as unique as the animal from which it came. This shearling is special for its variegated wool pattern with a staple length of 4” and then dropping to a much shorter length on both sides of the hide. The slightly crimped wool delivers a wonderful tactile experience as you run your fingers through the highs and lows of the fiber. Responsive to temperatures, wool has the unique ability to cool in hotter weather and warm on colder days. An idyllic throw for your bed, sofa, Vintage Army Cot or Sling Chair—as we use them.
We work with a tanner in California’s Central Valley to process the hides in an eco-friendly manner, avoiding the use of Chromium which is toxic to the land and the tanners; and keeps our carbon footprint as small as possible.
